After more than four months of meetings, negotiations, financial planning and setting up a legal business structure. We are now excited to launch the community share offer to raise funds to bid for the Cross Guns. Our mission is to bring the Cross Guns into the ownership of local people. This will free it from the ties of brewery ownership and enable a brighter future ahead.

The world has changed a lot since you made your pledge. Fuel prices are just one of the issues facing us all. We hope this won’t reduce your passion to invest in a community-owned Cross Guns. In fact, we think these pressures mean it’s even more important to bring the pub into community ownership.

We believe by pooling our resources we will create an even greater sense of loyalty to the Cross Guns, we feel that the patronage of the local community is all it needs to thrive. A local pub directed by local people for local people is likely the only way to make a success of the business.

Community shares are often used by communities to buy local assets such as pubs, village halls and shops. We have created the Cross Guns Community Benefit Society, regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, to offer these shares to our community.
|
Community shares are fully at risk and you could lose some or all of the money you subscribe. You have no right to compensation from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, nor any right of complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

Please don’t invest any money you can’t afford to lose but please do remember that if we are unable to buy the Cross Guns your investment will be returned.

We will have about a month to raise £348,000 to demonstrate that the community can purchase the freehold and then operate the building as a vibrant, community hub.
