Dear , I can't believe it's been almost six months since we heard the news that the Cross Guns was closed and put on the market by Admiral Taverns.

Since then, lots of us have done a wide range of things - some of it tedious and not much fun - to get us to our current position, where we can launch our community share offer.

Thanks for everything you did to help get us here. I really appreciate it.

Hopefully, the most boring stuff is behind us, and a successful share offer could demonstrate to Admiral Taverns that we can make a cash offer to buy the pub.

I hope you have seen that the investors' page on the website now has supporting documents to show people what their investment could achieve.

We are formally launching the share offer on Friday at the Pop-up pub in the village hall, and I hope you can be there.

We've achieved everything so far with masses of voluntary effort, which has shown me the sense of community around the village.

There's still lots to do, and if you are able to help out with the Pop-Up on Friday, that would be great, or perhaps you could share the word about the share issue with friends, family, neighbours or with work colleagues. I think that could really help with getting a good result.

We were warned it would be hard work, and I do feel it's been something of a marathon.
|
We've got a month-long sprint ahead of us to raise a serious amount of money.

And to keep the running analogy going, I still think a team relay is our best chance of success in creating a real community hub in the village, so if you'd like to help out some more, please do let us know.
