Welcome to our website. It is currently a work in progress. This website has been started to be a focal point for everyone interested in a possible community purchase of the Cross Guns Inn in Pant.

The process of making a bid for the cross Guns started when Admiral Taverns indicated that they were putting the pub on the market.

As the pub is listed as an Asset of Community Value with Shropshire Council, volunteers in the informal group ‘Friends of the Cross Guns’ were notified about the proposed sale.

We have until 1 December 2025 to express an interest in buying the pub – this we will do.

Then we have six months to draw up business plans, raise finance and agree with Admiral Taverns that they should sell to us.

We will be holding a number of consultations and information events to answer any questions you might have and to help persuade you that saving the Cross Guns for the community is in all our interests.

We will be using the services of professional advisors and you will be able to speak to people who have done this before.

There are over 200 community-owned pubs already in existence – it’s possible here.
